A research says that fresh pineapple is high in Vitamin C and is the only source of bromelain, an anti-inflammatory which helps get rid of the mucus from the body. INGREDIENTS:

  • Fresh Pineapple- 2 cups
  • Honey- 2-3 tbsp (depending on the sweetness of pineapple)
  • Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
  • Salt- 1/4 tsp
  • Water- 1/2 cup

PROCEDURE:

  • Peel and chop the pineapple into small-sized pieces.

  • Take a blender jar, add the rest of the ingredients to it.

  • Blend it to a fine puree, check for the sweetness, add more if required. The pineapple I used was more on the sour side, so I added approx. 4 tbsp honey to it. If you have a sweeter pineapple, you can add less honey.

  • Pass this through a fine mesh sieve. Strain it to get a chunk-free juice.

  • Your fresh pineapple juice without sugar for cough is ready. Consume right away.
  • Don't store fruit juices in the refrigerator, as they lose their nutrients. Fresh fruit juices should be consumed right after preparations. The best way is to consume it in the day time and the juice should be at room temperature
